Bitola's FICT Launches a Climate Resilience Project With Universities From Spain and Italy

The "St. Kliment Ohridski" University in Bitola, through its Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies (FICT), has started work on the "Climate Resilience Intelligence Lab" (CRIL), together with the University of Castilla-La Mancha in Spain and the University of Ferrara in Italy.

According to FICT, the partners will lay the groundwork for coordinated activities and for joint approaches to climate resilience. The initiative is part of the wider mission of the COLOURS Alliance, which aims to strengthen cooperation between European universities and their regions. The guests, as is customary, were also shown Bitola's cultural and historical landmarks.

Bitola and the Pelagonia plain know exactly what it means to feel the climate on your own back - from drought-hit summers to the polluted winter air. So a project with a name like this is welcome. The question is whether anything comes out of the "lab" that ordinary people will actually see, or whether it stays one more partnership described in a press release and a photo around a table.
