Black Country, New Road play Dorćol Plac in Belgrade on August 12. The British group that survived the hardest possible line-up change arrives with material from the third album, and tickets are 3,400 dinars through tickets.rs. The start is at 8 pm.

The band formed in 2018 in Cambridge, as a six-piece that came out of the earlier group Nervous Conditions, and quickly became one of the names of the London Windmill scene alongside black midi and Squid. The first album For the First Time came out in 2021, the second Ants From Up There in 2022, and in exactly those days singer Isaac Wood left the band. The album came out a few days later and became a cult record, but the group was left without a voice and without its main author.

That is usually the end of the story. Not for them. Tyler Hyde, Georgia Ellery and May Kershaw took over the singing and writing, and in April 2025 Forever Howlong came out, recorded in 2024 with producer James Ford for Ninja Tune. The album is the first without Wood and sounds like a different band: softer, more poetic, with three female voices alternating instead of one carrying everything.

The singles Besties, Happy Birthday and For the Cold Country announced that new direction. What makes them an interesting concert is that this group has never played it safe: the instruments change between songs, and every member sings. Dorćol Plac is a club stage with a capacity that keeps things like that close to the audience.
