Bruce Soord, founder, frontman and main songwriter of British progressive-rock band The Pineapple Thief, comes to Sofia on June 10, 2026. The concert is in a solo format - acoustic, just guitar and voice - and will take place at JOY Station.
The Pineapple Thief has been active since 1999 and is one of the most recognisable names of the contemporary progressive-rock scene. They combine the classic prog aesthetic of Porcupine Tree (drummer Gavin Harrison is a co-author of both projects) with more melodic and intimately structured work. With 14 studio albums - the most recent being Versions of the Truth and It Leads to This - the band stands out for its intellectual approach to the genre. In parallel, Bruce Soord has four solo albums, the latest being Luminescence (2023).
The solo concert setlist covers arranged versions of The Pineapple Thief's hits (Nothing at Best, Hold Our Ground, In Exile), together with songs from his four solo albums. The acoustic format offers an intimate perspective on songs that have a more layered sound in the band context. JOY Station is a club with a capacity of about 1,500.
Tickets are available through eventim.bg at 50 leva. The concert starts at 20:00 on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. For Macedonian fans of contemporary progressive rock, this is one of the loveliest intimate options in the neighbourhood.
