Buč Kesidi play Trsat Castle in Rijeka on August 29, closing the August stretch of the "Ljeto na Gradini" programme. The Serbian indie rock act from Pančevo has in recent years become one of the names filling rooms across the region, with no conventional radio support behind them.
The band formed in 2013 and works as a duo. Their sound is modern indie rock aimed at an audience that grew up on streaming rather than on regional television festivals, and that is exactly what explains how they gathered listeners from Ljubljana to Skopje in a short space of time. The organisers of the Rijeka programme bill them as the month's finale, a slot given to the band expected to draw the biggest crowd.
The show takes place in Nugent Park within Trsat Castle, a medieval fortress above the city. "Ljeto na Gradini" runs from June to September, and this year's programme has already featured Rundek, Let 3, Josipa Lisac and Toni Cetinski. The August schedule gathered Vanna, Rišpet, Električni orgazam and Vesna Pisarović, with Buč Kesidi taking the final date.
Tickets range from 1.70 to 21.70 euros through entrio.hr, which for a concert in a fortress above the Kvarner is among the lower prices of this year's coastal season. The fortress sits directly above the city, so a view of the Bay of Rijeka comes bundled with the ticket.
