Legendary New York DJ and producer David Morales plays Morosini-Grimani Castle in Svetvinčenat, in the heart of Istria, on July 2, 2027. The event starts at 8 p.m., with Paolo Barbato and DMC Foka also on the bill.

Morales was born in New York in 1961 and absorbed disco culture in clubs like The Loft and Paradise Garage. Together with house legend Frankie Knuckles and Judy Weinstein he founded Def Mix Productions, and his remixes under the Red Zone name became signposts for progressive house. In 1998 he won the Grammy for remixer of the year, the second winner of that award after Knuckles.

In the nineties he signed hundreds of remixes, among them Mariah Carey's "Dreamlover", Janet Jackson's "Throb", Alison Limerick's "Where Love Lives" and Jamiroquai's "Space Cowboy", and he also recorded the house classic "Needin' U". He is considered one of the first so-called superstar DJs. A medieval Istrian castle instead of a strobe-lit club is a choice that sounds like an ad - but also like the perfect contrast for music born in New York basements.

Early tickets cost 30 euros (about 1,848 denars) plus fees and are sold via entrio.hr. Svetvinčenat is a small town in central Istria, Croatia.
