On October 9, from 18:00 to 20:00, Kućica Sljeme on Medvednica above Zagreb turns into a small funk stage. A tribute band dedicated to Dino Dvornik takes the songs of the man they called the "king of funk" up the mountain.

Dino Dvornik was born in Split on August 20, 1964, the son of actor Boris Dvornik. In 1982 he founded the funk outfit Kineski zid with his brother Dean, and released his first solo album in 1989. "Tebi pripadam" won the Zagreb Festival in 1988, "Misliš da sam blesav" won the MESAM festival in 1990, and "Jače manijače" and "Ljubav se zove imenom tvojim" are among his best-known songs. The 1991 war cut his career short. He died in Zagreb on September 7, 2008, aged 44.

What he left behind still fills dancefloors. The programme on Sljeme is simple: the biggest hits, that recognisable groove, and dancing. It is an early-evening gig, so there is time afterwards to head back down into town before the night really starts. How many other regional stars of the eighties have an audience today that will go looking for them on a mountaintop?

Presale tickets cost 20 euros, about 1,232 denars, on entrio.hr. Kućica Sljeme is on Sljemenska cesta, at the top of Medvednica, so for anyone coming from Macedonia this is a chance for a weekend trip to Zagreb with music at the end of the day.
