Dizzee Rascal, one of the fathers of British grime, performs in Zagreb on October 8 at the Boogaloo club. For the hip-hop crowd in the region this is a rare visit by an artist who shaped the entire British urban scene.
Dylan Mills, known as Dizzee Rascal, is a rapper, songwriter and producer from London who put grime on the musical map with his 2003 debut album "Boy in da Corner". The album won the prestigious Mercury Prize and is today considered one of the most important British albums of the century. With a mix of grime, hip-hop and electronica, Dizzee became a pioneer who opened the way for a whole generation of British urban artists.
Over his career he has several number-one singles on the British charts, including hits like "Bonkers" and "Dance wiv Me", carrying grime from the underground to the mainstream. His performances are known for their energy and direct contact with the audience, in a format that works best in a club setting like Zagreb's Boogaloo.
Tickets are available via ulaznice.hr. The concert is at the Boogaloo club in Zagreb, in the evening hours.
