DJ Krush at Malkata Tekila in Sofia on October 22 - Japan's Trip-Hop Legend Returns With Abstract Hip-Hop After 2025

DJ Krush plays Malkata Tekila in Sofia on October 22, 2026, with the Bulgarian act Rawland on support. Tickets are on bilet.bg for a night with the Japanese trip-hop legend who returns to Sofia after a strong showing at the same club back in 2025.

DJ Krush (real name Hideaki Ishi) is a Japanese producer and DJ from Tokyo, born in 1962 and widely regarded as a pioneer of trip-hop and abstract hip-hop. He started in the late 80s with the hip-hop crew B-FRESH3 on the streets of Harajuku, where he linked up with MURO and DJ GO, and the three of them later formed the group KRUSH POSSE. After the group split in 1992, he began the solo career that would go on to define the sound of Japanese turntablism.

His debut „KRUSH" (1994) and follow-up „Strictly Turntablized" (1994) - both released through the legendary British label Mo' Wax - launched him in Europe. „Meiso" (1995), „MiLight" (1996), „Kakusei" (1998) and the collaborative „Ki-Oku" (1996) with trumpeter Toshinori Kondo followed. As a remixer he has worked with Herbie Hancock, k.d. lang and Ronnie Jordan, and contributed to projects by Miles Davis, Pete Rock and Coldcut.

With shows in over 60 countries and 350 cities, plus stages at Glastonbury, Sonar and Coachella, DJ Krush is one of the most respected DJ names on the international electronic scene. Malkata Tekila is a Sofia club at the intimate end of the capacity scale, the right size for this kind of set. Tickets on bilet.bg.
