Egyptian Lover headlines the "Love Songs" party at Zagreb's Peti Kupe club on October 30. The night starts at 11 p.m., with Felver and Antonio Zuza also playing.

Egyptian Lover is the stage name of Gregory James Broussard, born in Los Angeles in 1963. He is one of the pioneers of West Coast hip-hop and one of the first to bring the Roland TR-808 drum machine into rap and dance music. In the early eighties he was a member of the Uncle Jam's Army collective, which threw huge parties in Los Angeles.

In 1984 he recorded "Egypt, Egypt", a track that became the anthem of the breakdance scene, and that same year his debut album "On the Nile" entered the Billboard 200. The same year he also founded the label Egyptian Empire Records. Stones Throw Records revived his music with reissues from 2015 onwards, and in parallel he draws in pen on record sleeves - works that have even been offered by Sotheby's. His sound fuses Prince's seductive vocals with Kraftwerk's metallic electronics, a combination that still sounds ahead of a lot of new productions.

Tickets cost 18 to 25 euros (about 1,109 to 1,540 denars), and some categories are already sold out. Sales are via entrio.hr, and Peti Kupe is on Trnjanska cesta in Zagreb, Croatia.
