Elemental, one of the most important Croatian hip-hop acts, performs in Zagreb on October 30. For fans of homegrown rap and urban music, this is a concert by a band that has been among the defining names of the regional scene for decades.
Elemental was founded in Zagreb in 1998, with the group's core made up of Mirela Priselac Remi and Luka Tralić Šot, who remain the band's songwriting centre. Their sound is described as "organic hip-hop" or alternative rap - even as it absorbs influences from rock, soul, funk and reggae, it stays true to its hip-hop roots. Over time the founding duo expanded into a whole backing group of musicians, which turns their shows into live band concerts rather than a classic rap set.
In 2009 Elemental won the Porin award for the album "Pod pritiskom" in the best urban and club album category. Remi's voice, the socially engaged lyrics and the energetic live performance made them one of the most respected acts in the region, with an audience that has followed them for over two decades.
Tickets are available via ulaznice.hr. The concert is in Zagreb, in the evening hours.
