Goran Bare i Majke, one of the rawest and most respected names of Croatian rock, perform in Pula on July 17 at the Kaštel. For the rock crowd in the region this is one of the most authentic live performances to be seen - a man who acts out nothing on stage.
Goran Bare is a frontman with cult status, known for his uncompromising lyrics, raspy voice and a stage presence full of raw emotion. With the band Majke, and earlier with Plavi Orkestar and Mrtva Priroda, he built a reputation as one of the most sincere songwriters of the ex-Yugoslav rock scene, whose songs speak of self-destruction, struggle and survival without a shred of pose.
Majke's concerts are known for their intensity - these are not polished spectacles but raw rock energy in which the audience and the band are on the same wavelength. That is exactly why Bare has a status that exceeds an ordinary musician: for many he is the voice of a different, darker side of Croatian and regional music.
Tickets are available via ulaznice.hr. The concert is at the Kaštel in Pula, a historic venue that gives a performance like this extra weight.
