Hammerhead play Metallica's repertoire at the Summer Theatre in Burgas on 24 September. A tribute concert, yes - but not the kind that happens in a small club in front of thirty people. Hammerhead are among the more accomplished European acts of this type.

The band comes from Sofia and runs as a non-commercial project, which in practice means it does not exist to make money but to play the music. That difference is audible to anyone who has been to both a good and a bad tribute show. Over the years they have staged a run of themed nights across Bulgaria - a concert dedicated to Cliff Burton, a programme called "72 Reasons to Love Metallica", and anniversary editions marking the albums.

This night is billed as The Black Master and marks thirty-five years since the Black Album and forty since "Master of Puppets". That is a setlist that practically writes itself - "Enter Sandman", "Battery", "Sad but True", "Nothing Else Matters".

Doors open at 19:00, the show starts at 20:00. Tickets via bilet.bg run from around 1,230 denars for the third category, through 1,480 for the second and 1,725 for the first, up to 2,220 denars for the boxes. The Summer Theatre in Burgas's Primorski Park is an open-air stage, which for heavy metal by the sea at the end of September is exactly the right frame.
