Hari Mata Hari at Palić on August 22 - the Sarajevo Pop Legend with 40 Years of Music and the Eurovision Hit Lejla

Hari Mata Hari is marking four decades on stage, and he's celebrating it at Palić. On August 22, at the Summer Stage by the lake, the Sarajevo pop legend plays a concert under the banner „40 years of music, love, and emotion", starting at 8 p.m.

Behind the band led by Hajrudin Hari Varešanović stands an impressive number - over 1,000 concerts played and five million albums sold, putting Hari Mata Hari among the best-selling groups from the former Yugoslavia. Varešanović was born in Sarajevo, into a family with sevdalinka in its blood - his grandfather was one of the well-known performers of traditional Bosnian song. He founded the band in 1985 and, from then until 2022, released 15 studio albums, with hits like „Strah me da te volim", „Kad dođe oktobar", and „Prsten i zlatni lanac".

There's also a Balkan connection that makes this event more interesting: at the 2006 Eurovision in Athens, Hari Mata Hari took third place for Bosnia and Herzegovina with the song „Lejla" - a composition by Željko Joksimović, who, as it happens, performs in Banja Luka the same month. Same year, the same Palić stage, two voices with a shared song.

Tickets start at 3,500 dinars through tickets.rs. The concert starts at 8 p.m. at the Summer Stage in Palić, Serbia.
