Julien Dassin, the son of legendary French singer Joe Dassin, comes to Sofia on June 5, 2026. The concert will take place in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture, a day after the Plovdiv show and two days before Varna (June 7). Titled Les Classiques Francais - your L'Ete Indien, the performance is dedicated to his father's hits and to the Italian classic Toto Cutugno.
Joe Dassin (1938-1980) was one of the most recognisable figures of French pop in the seventies, with hits like L'Ete Indien, Les Champs-Elysees, Si tu n'existais pas and Le Jardin du Luxembourg. Toto Cutugno (1943-2023) added the Italian standards L'Italiano, Insieme 1992 (the winning song of Eurovision 1990), Solo Noi and Donna donna mia to the same chapter of European pop history. Julien's concept is to bring both bodies of work together in a single evening, with a full orchestra and special guests - Italian singer Chiara di Bari and French singer Lauren Nogier.
NDK Hall 1, with its 2,800-seat capacity and excellent acoustics, suits the large orchestral arrangements of these classics. The setlist covers standards from the seventies and eighties, set in the original live arrangements with strings and brass. Julien's performance of his father's L'Ete Indien is traditionally the emotional peak of the concert.
Tickets are available through eventim.bg at 52 leva. The concert starts at 20:00 on Friday, June 5, 2026. NDK is in central Sofia. For Macedonian fans of classic French and Italian chanson, this is one of the loveliest options in the neighbourhood.
