Jura Stublić and the band Film play the Hangar at Luka Beograd on December 5 from 8 p.m., organised by Long Play. With it the legendary Zagreb musician returns to the Serbian capital after almost seven years.
Stublić is one of the most important songwriters and frontmen of the Yugoslav new wave, and Film one of the most recognisable names of that scene. Their songs marked several generations: "Dobre vibracije", "Pjevajmo do zore", "Zamisli život u ritmu muzike za ples", "Srce na cesti", "Mi nismo sami" and "Doći ću ti u snovima". He describes his relationship with the Belgrade audience as love at first sight, going back to the days of "Pozdravi iz Zagreba": "A lot of bands played, but the Belgrade audience took to us brilliantly from the very first moment. That was a love that has lasted to this day."
The repertoire won't surprise anyone, and that's deliberate. "We have 20-30 songs everyone knows. We only play the biggest hits, and if you want to sing at the top of your lungs, dance and jump, welcome," says Stublić. On stage with him are Borna Čop on guitar, Hrvoje Ivančić on keys, Filip Gorupec on bass and Mario Jagarinec on drums.
Tickets start at 2,500 dinars via tickets.rs.
