With the musical „Kao kakao“, the 66th edition of the Ohrid Summer festival closes ceremonially on August 20, 2026. The show takes place at Donji Saraj in Ohrid and brings together names that each mean something in Macedonian culture.

A strong team stands behind the project. The text and dramaturgy are the work of Venko Andonovski, one of the most widely read contemporary Macedonian writers; the direction is signed by Dejan Projkovski, and the music is by Vlatko Stefanovski - a guitarist whose name has long outgrown the borders of the region. Boban Mirkovski handles the arrangements, Olga Pango the choreography, and the production is by Bagi Communications.

A lineup like this in one place is no everyday occurrence. The fusion of Andonovski's prose with Stefanovski's guitar and Projkovski's directorial hand creates a musical that aims to be more than a closing ceremony - it is an attempt by the home scene to show that it can produce a full-length music-theatre show at a high level. For the closing of the oldest and most renowned Macedonian festival, the ambition is understandable.

Tickets cost 600 denars via karti.com.mk, and the show starts at 21:00. For those who want to send off Ohrid Summer with something more than a concert, this is the night.
