On August 16, 2026, as part of the OH JAZZ programme of the Ohrid Summer, the British duo Kiiōtō perform at Dolni Saraj in Ohrid - a project that refuses to fit into a single genre and moves freely between jazz, soul and folk.

Behind Kiiōtō stands Lou Rhodes, nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize and former singer and co-founder of the cult group Lamb, together with the award-winning composer and pianist Rohan Heath. Their sound leans on jazz textures, broken beat and soul, with influences ranging from Carole King to Alice Coltrane. Their 2024 debut album "As Dust We Rise" drew excellent reviews, and live the pair play keyboards, piano, harmonica, vocals, guitar and percussion.

This year they also released their second album, "Black Salt" - a layered record woven through with broken beat and jazz, featuring guest musicians such as guitarist Hawi Gondwe, known for his work with Amy Winehouse, and drummer Mikey Wilson. This is music for those who want to listen closely, not just to have a backdrop for the evening.

The pairing of this intimate British project with the setting of Dolni Saraj creates a night rarely seen on Macedonia's summer stages. Tickets cost 1000 denars through karti.com.mk, and the concert starts at 9 p.m.
