Singer-songwriter Kralj Čačka ("King of Čačak") plays on Sunday, October 11, from 14:00, at the "Mileva koncept" space in Grivac. The concert is titled "Zemlja snova" ("Land of Dreams"), like his first album, and the timing is unusual - the afternoon, instead of late at night.
Behind the pseudonym is Nenad Marić, born in Čačak in 1979. For more than a decade he played his blues in hidden Belgrade spots before releasing his first album "Zemlja snova" on the labels Pop Depresija and Odličan Hrčak. "Spusti svetlost na put" followed in 2018, and the latest, "Dobro jutro, ljudi!", is a double album with 25 songs, released on Croatia Records. It is a collaboration with his brother Marko Marić, who is producer and arranger.
His sound moves between blues, jazz, cabaret and rock'n'roll, and his lyrics are a chronicle of the times. In interviews Marić talks about the civic right to hope and the duty to speak up when there is reason to, and his songs carry a clear anti-war and social message. This is not background music for Sunday lunch, even if the time slot suggests it.
Tickets cost 1,000 dinars (about 530 denars) and are on sale through tickets.rs.
