On August 13, 2026, in the setting of the „St. Sofia“ church in Ohrid, Krste Rodjevski performs as part of the OH JAZZ programme of the Ohrid Summer - a man from Bitola who has lived in New York since the nineties and whose music fuses American jazz and blues with Macedonian verse.

Rodjevski is a figure with an unusual biography. A psychiatrist by profession with his own practice in New York, he draws his musical roots from Bitola, from the same scene that later produced Foltin and Ljubojna. His debut album „Bataniya“ earned excellent reviews, and on the recordings he was joined by some of the most respected New York jazz musicians like Mary Halvorson, Kirk Knuffke and Thomas Fujiwara. The trilogy „Bataniya“, „Bitter Almonds“ and „The Rabbit and the Fallen Maple“ established him as an authentic voice that does not fit easily into any mould.

On the stage in Ohrid, Rodjevski will not be alone. Joining him are Dine Doneff on double bass, tambura and vocals, Haris Lambrakis on the ney and Kyriakos Tapakis on the oud - a lineup that fuses Greek, Macedonian and Mediterranean tradition with jazz improvisation. This is not an ordinary concert, but a meeting of musicians from different worlds in one place.
