La Coka Nostra play Gala Hala in Ljubljana on September 17. The American hip-hop supergroup, assembled from members of three separate cult acts, arrives in Metelkova as part of the Rapetek Ekstra series.

The group formed in 2005 and initially worked as a loose collective rather than a conventional band. The line-up features Everlast, Danny Boy and DJ Lethal from House of Pain, Ill Bill from Non Phixion, Slaine from Special Teamz and solo rapper Big Left. That is a line connecting three distinct strands of American underground rap, not a project thrown together for one album.

The debut album "A Brand You Can Trust" came out on Suburban Noize, and the guest list says everything about the circles the group moved in: B-Real and Sen Dog from Cypress Hill, Snoop Dogg, Bun B and Immortal Technique. "Masters of the Dark Arts" followed in 2012. Between the albums came years spent on summer festivals across Europe, which means this is a group known for shows, not just records.

Tickets cost 28 euros through mojekarte.hr, and the concert starts at 20:00. Gala Hala is a club room, which in the case of an act with six microphones on stage means a far denser night than the same line-up could deliver in an arena.
