Los Vivancos, the Spanish dance ensemble made up of seven brothers, comes to Belgrade on November 10 to the mts Hall with a spectacle that blends flamenco, acrobatics, martial arts and theatre into one. This is not an ordinary dance concert - it is high-intensity physical theatre of a kind rarely seen on Balkan stages.
The seven Vivancos brothers grew up in a nomadic musical family and travelled the world as children, absorbing different cultures that they later built into their style. The result is a recognisable mix: classical flamenco as the base, but built up with elements of ballet, martial arts, violin and even humour. Their shows like "Aeternum" and "Nacidos para bailar" have played in sold-out halls across Europe and Latin America, and the brothers gained a global audience thanks in part to viral videos of their performances.
What makes a Los Vivancos performance different is the physical conditioning of the performers - each brother is both a dancer and an acrobat, so the stage constantly shifts between gentle flamenco sequences and explosive group choreography. The production includes live musical accompaniment, lighting effects and costume design that keeps the show at the level of a grand theatrical spectacle.
Tickets run from around 2,470 denars and are available via tickets.rs. The show is at the mts Hall in Belgrade; for readers thinking about travelling - Belgrade is under eight hours' drive from Skopje.
