The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit in Concert, a major multimedia event featuring Howard Shore's music performed live by orchestra and choir, comes to Plovdiv on May 26, 2026. The show takes place at the Kolodrum multifunctional sports hall, as part of a tour that continues in Sofia on May 28 and ends at the Skopje Philharmonic on May 31.
The production is by Original Films and covers the key parts of the original soundtrack of Peter Jackson's trilogy - from Concerning Hobbits and The Shire, through Gollum Song and Forth Eorlingas, to The Return of the King and In Dreams. The special guest is Morfydd Clark, the Welsh actress who played the young Galadriel in Amazon's The Rings of Power, alongside recorded interludes from Sir Christopher Lee as Saruman.
The concert is built as an epic journey through the Shire, Moria, Lothlorien and the battle at Minas Tirith, with large projections from the films synchronised to the live music. The choir performs the choral parts originally written in Elvish and Dwarvish, one of the most emotional sides of any film score in history. The Kolodrum in Plovdiv is one of Bulgaria's newest large concert venues.
Tickets are available through eventim.bg at 62 leva. The concert starts at 16:00 on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. For Macedonian fans of Peter Jackson's trilogy, the same show runs in Sofia on May 28 and at the Skopje Philharmonic on May 31.
