The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit in concert performance arrive in Sofia on May 28, 2026. The show takes place in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture, two days after the Plovdiv concert, with the same production and programme.
The production is by Original Films, with a full symphony orchestra, choir and soloists. The pieces performed come from Howard Shore's soundtracks for Peter Jackson's films - The Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001-2003) and The Hobbit trilogy (2012-2014). The set covers Concerning Hobbits, The Bridge of Khazad-dum, Forth Eorlingas, In Dreams, The Return of the King, Misty Mountains from The Hobbit, and the battle at Minas Tirith.
The special guest is Morfydd Clark, the Welsh actress known for her role as the young Galadriel in Amazon Prime Video's The Rings of Power. At the concert she performs solo vocal parts and interludes, alongside recorded passages from Sir Christopher Lee as Saruman. The choir performs the Elvish and Dwarvish lyrics originally written by Shore, which adds an authentic cinematic character to the performance.
Tickets are available through eventim.bg at 156 leva. The concert starts at 16:00 on Thursday, May 28, 2026. For Macedonian fans of Peter Jackson's trilogy, the same concert also runs at the Skopje Philharmonic on May 31.
