Maria Guleghina performs a recital at Kolarac Foundation in Belgrade on October 6, 2026 at 8 p.m. Tickets are 3,300 RSD (around 1,737 MKD) on tickets.rs for a concert by one of the biggest dramatic sopranos of her generation.
Maria Guleghina is the operatic soprano born in Odessa, Ukraine, of Armenian-Ukrainian descent, and is regarded as one of the most recognizable interpreters of the Italian dramatic repertoire of the last 35 years. She made her international debut in 1987 on the stage of La Scala in Milan, as Amelia in „Un ballo in maschera" alongside Luciano Pavarotti. She held lead roles in 15 different opera productions at La Scala, plus two solo recitals on the same stage.
Her Metropolitan Opera debut in New York came in 1991 in the role of Maddalena in „Andrea Chénier", and since then she has clocked more than 160 appearances on the Met stage. Her standing among the leading dramatic sopranos of her generation comes from critics' praise for the warmth and richness of her voice, a powerful stage presence and dramatic commitment, especially in the title roles of Tosca and Turandot.
The Kolarac concert is in the format of a solo recital with piano accompaniment - the most intimate setting in which a voice like this can be heard. Tickets at 3,300 RSD (1,737 MKD) on tickets.rs, and the Kolarac Foundation hall offers exclusive acoustics for performances of this category.
