Mašarik play on September 3 at the Summer Garden of Gala hala at Metelkova in Ljubljana. Doors at 20:00, the early ticket costs 15 euros and the regular one 18 euros, which in denars is around 920 to 1,110. If the weather turns bad, the ticket is valid for the backup date on September 9.
Mašarik are a trio from Gorenjska who in recent years have gone through a change few bands experience: from a band you had to recommend to people, into a band people recommend onwards themselves. That did not happen through a scandal or a hit that flooded the radio, but through concerts that leave you with the impression you were at something special.
The core is Maša Bogataj on vocals and guitar, Luka Zemljič on keyboards and backing vocals and Bojan Marinko on drums, with Amadej Šaršanski on bass guitar joining them live. Their music ties together blues, rock and psychedelia, and Bogataj's vocal adds the salt. The band won the Golden Flute award for newcomer of the year, and presented the debut album „Otroci cvetja” at Kino Šiška.
This is their return to Ljubljana after almost a year off, which the organisers are openly using as an argument not to leave tickets until the last moment. Gala hala at Metelkova is an autonomous cultural centre, a space where this music works better than it would in a bigger hall. Tickets are via mojekarte.si.
