The Varna series Synoma celebrates its first anniversary with its fifth edition on November 20, 2026 in the Mladost hall of the Palace of Culture and Sports in Varna. The headliners are two of Bulgaria's best-known electronic artists, Metodi and Pavel Petrov, sharing the decks for the first time in more than a decade.

Metodi Hristov is co-founder of the Set About label and one of the most internationally recognised Bulgarian techno names. He has released on Drumcode, Adam Beyer's label, where he debuted with the EP "Build to Destroy", as well as on Filth On Acid, Terminal M, Stil Vor Talent and Suara. His music has been played by Beyer, Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola and Pan-Pot. In 2025, according to the organisers, he was among Beatport's six best-selling techno artists, and Set About among the four best-selling techno labels.

Pavel Petrov is the founder of EXE Audio and EXE Events, with a sound that moves between indie dance, melodic techno and tech house. He has been supported by Carl Cox, Solomun and Hot Since 82, and has played on four continents. In 2024 he was Beatport's third best-selling indie dance artist. Support comes from Reytech and Yordanov.

The night starts at 10:30 p.m. Tickets on bilet.bg cost 20 to 75 euros, roughly 1,230 to 4,620 denars. When two Bulgarian DJs with Beatport numbers like these play at home, the question is how many people in the crowd actually know them.
