Mile Kekin, frontman of the cult Zagreb band Hladno Pivo, performs in Belgrade on October 2 at Nova Zapa Barka with his solo material. For the rock crowd in the region this is a chance to see one of the most authoritative voices of the Croatian alternative scene in an intimate, club format.
For decades Kekin has been known as the leader and songwriter of Hladno Pivo, one of the most important Croatian punk and rock bands, whose songs with sharp, socially engaged lyrics became anthems for several generations. Hits like "Samožderci" and "Kad zakon dozvoli" made the band a cult act across the region, and Kekin recognisable for his cutting irony and direct messages.
In his solo career Kekin has carried on with the same sensibility, but in more stripped-down, often gentler arrangements. These shows give the audience a different side of a songwriter they know mostly from a big band - closer, quieter and more personal.
Tickets run from around 1,316 denars and are available via tickets.rs. The show is at Nova Zapa Barka in Belgrade, in the evening hours.
