Neverne Bebe return to an open-air stage. On August 29 Milan Đurđević's band plays acoustic at the Ekata Estate amphitheatre in Krnjevo, between Belgrade and Jagodina, starting at 21:00. A ticket costs around 1,740 denars.
The band formed in Valjevo in 1993 and played its first concert on April 4 of the same year in Belgrade. The founder and creative lead is Milan Đurđević, born in Valjevo in 1967, who is simultaneously keyboardist, author of the music and lyrics, arranger and producer. Before Neverne Bebe he played in the group Nova Zemlja, winner of the Zaječar Gitarijada in 1983 and the first band from Valjevo with a released album.
The discography starts with Neverne Bebe I in 1994, carrying "Veliki je Bog" and "1000 godina". The second album came in 1997 on the Munich label Red Line Records, and the third, Južno od sreće from 2001, holds "Ljubav" and "Balkan". With the 2004 compilation Dvoje the band turned openly towards pop rock. Before and since, Neverne Bebe have played more than 1,800 shows at home and abroad. Thirty-three years on stage in this region is not a small number.
The acoustic format in an amphitheatre changes a great deal. The arrangements are stripped bare, the rhythm section pulls back, and songs the audience knows by heart sound different from how they do in a club. Ekata Estate uses the natural slope of the ground as its seating, which means the sound spreads without walls throwing it back.
Krnjevo sits on the Belgrade to Niš motorway, which makes it reachable for anyone travelling from the south. Tickets are sold through tickets.rs, and the price is among the lower ones for an event of this calibre.
