Nikola Rakočević performs the one-man show "Recite nam nešto o sebi" ("Tell Us Something About Yourself") at Dorćol Platz in Belgrade on October 20 from 8:30 p.m. The title is the question every job candidate has heard - and that almost nobody has answered honestly.
The show is based on the novel "Napomena" by Milan Mrđa, adapted for the stage by Mrđa and Rakočević. Rakočević plays the lead and co-directs with Jelena Rakočević. Stage speech was shaped by Ljiljana Mrkić Popović, and the costumes are by Biljana Grgur. It runs about 70 minutes.
The hero applies for a job and, when asked to say a bit more about himself, takes it much more seriously than he should. The confession winds through countless meanders and ends up the exact opposite of what he wanted at the start. Behind the humour lie some of today's biggest traumas: unemployment, rejection by the group and the loneliness the digital age has brought. Which of us hasn't said something at an interview that we didn't believe ourselves?
Tickets are 2,000 dinars via tickets.rs.
