The Ningbo Symphony Orchestra from China performs in Ohrid on July 15 at Dolni Saraj - one of the most active Chinese orchestras on the international touring circuit, under the baton of Kazakh conductor Abzal Mukhitdinov. Tickets cost 500 denars.
The Ningbo Symphony Orchestra was founded in 2015 in the Chinese coastal city of Ningbo and is today part of a growing wave of Chinese orchestras actively touring Europe and the world. The orchestra is led by Abzal Mukhitdinov - Kazakh conductor and composer, Honoured Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan and one of the founders of the Astana Opera, with a repertoire spanning more than 1000 symphonic and operatic works.
Dolni Saraj in Ohrid - the historic complex on the shores of Lake Ohrid - is one of the most poetic concert settings on the Balkans, and open-air symphonic concerts during the summer season are a tradition of the Ohrid Summer Festival with decades of history behind them.
