Norman Beaker plays the Hard Place club in Zagreb on October 2, 2026, starting at 8 pm. The English blues guitarist, one of only eight British artists from the twenty-first century officially inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame, is coming to a Zagreb club.
Beaker is a guitarist, singer and songwriter from Manchester, active on the British blues scene since the early seventies. He was at the very core of the scene in its early days, and built his craft playing with Graham Bond, Alexis Korner and artists of that calibre. In 2017 he was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame, and the list of British names he shares that honour with is short and heavy: Jack Bruce, Peter Green, John Mayall, Jeff Beck, Keith Richards, Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton.
The Norman Beaker Band has played and recorded with a long list of blues names, among them Graham Bond, Jack Bruce, Chuck Berry, Jimmy Rogers, Alexis Korner, Buddy Guy, Lowell Fulson, Fenton Robinson and B. B. King. As a session guitarist he contributed to recordings by Jack Bruce, Lowell Fulson, James Booker and Van Morrison. That is a list few blues musicians in Europe can show, and it explains why his sound has stayed recognisable across an entire career.
Tickets are 10 euros, roughly 616 denars, plus a booking fee, through entrio.hr. For a show by a man from the Blues Hall of Fame, that is a price you rarely see anywhere in Europe.
