Marko Kutlic plays Split's Fabrique Le Supper Club on 3 October, doors at 20:00. It is one stop on his autumn tour of Croatia, which also takes in Osijek, Pozega and Zagreb.
Kutlic was born on 18 May 1995 in Slavonski Brod. He started young, singing in church choirs and posting his own arrangements online. The wider public first met him as the frontman of Pravila igre and the hit "Nebo na mojoj strani". His solo career began in 2017 with "Srce se spasilo", "Samo ljubav" and "Uz nju", and in that stretch he took home the Porin award for best new artist.
Then came the turn almost nobody in this region makes. After two solo albums he simply walked off the scene, and the public later found out he was busking through Italian cities. A video from Trieste, playing local and foreign hits to passers-by, caught even his own followers off guard. He explained afterwards that he had been travelling in a yellow van he lived in for a while, playing the streets of European cities.
This year he returned to Dora with "Neotudivo" and finished ninth in the final. A singer who went from a Porin award to street corners and then back to a national Eurovision selection has the kind of biography you rarely see in a region where a career is usually defended rather than abandoned. Tickets through entrio.hr run up to 22 euros, roughly 1,355 denars.
