Panzerfaust, the Canadian black metal band from Toronto, play Sofia on December 2, 2026 at the Oldskulls club. This is a band working on far more specific material than the average representative of the genre.
The group was formed in 2005, and what makes it recognisable is the series „The Suns of Perdition”, conceived as a tetralogy. The first part, „War, Horrid War”, came out in 2019, and by 2022 at least three chapters of the cycle had been released, among them „Chapter III: The Astral Drain”. It is a long-term project the band has built over years, instead of putting out unconnected albums.
The subject is not fantasy. The series is about real historical events of the twentieth century, about the wars and the people left underneath them, and it is deliberately written without romanticising war. Sonically it is a fusion of industrial and black metal, which is a departure from the classic Scandinavian school. Together with the anti-religious line in the lyrics, that makes Panzerfaust a band with its own position in the genre rather than an imitation of the Norwegian scene.
The concert starts at 7 pm. Tickets cost 48.90 leva through bilet.bg, around 1,540 denars. Oldskulls is a small-capacity club in Sofia that regularly takes programmes like this, which means a close-up performance rather than a big hall.
