The legendary German drum and bass label Position Chrome returns to Sofia on October 10, 2026 with its own label night at Studio „Orfey”. The event starts at 22:00 and runs until 07:00 in the morning, with The Panacea, Limewax, Counterstrike, Cooh and Miguel on the decks.
Position Chrome was founded in Germany in 1996 by the producer Panacea, real name Mathis Mootz. Across albums and singles for the label, Mootz pushed the tech step format laid down by Britain's Ed Rush and Optical onto harder industrial and digital hardcore terrain. He also took over the label's programme, which was then renamed Position Chrome.
With over 80 releases since 1996 and artists such as The Panacea, Alec Empire, Techno Animal, Limewax, Counterstrike, Current Value, Audio and DJ Scud, this is one of the longest-running and most influential German drum and bass labels. It also has a reputation as one of the hardest on the scene, which here is not a marketing phrase but a description of the sound.
Cooh is the Bulgarian name in that line-up, which also explains the connection with Sofia - the city has its own tradition in the harder electronic genres, and is not merely a stop on other people's tours. Tickets are around 15 euros via bilet.bg, roughly 924 denars.
