Pussy Riot come to Sofia on October 10, 2026 with the performance "Riot Days", at club DOM on Angel Kanchev street 1. This is not an ordinary concert. "Riot Days" is a hybrid of concert, rally, theatre and political happening, staged from Maria Alyokhina's book.

The piece was directed by Alyokhina herself together with music producer Alexander Cheparukhin, and it tells her story from the group's provocations, through the trials, to prison. What keeps it alive is that the content changes. New political persecutions and the Russian aggression against Ukraine go into it, so every tour carries different material from the last.

The numbers show how far it has travelled. More than four hundred performances worldwide, the Herald Angel and Total Theatre Award from the Edinburgh festivals, Germany's annual anti-fascist prize, and the Woody Guthrie Award in the United States. Few music projects from Eastern Europe carry a list like that.

Alyokhina is not alone on stage. With her are musician Alina Petrova, actress Taso Pletner and Erik Breitenbach, drummer of the band New Age Doom. The performance moves between recitation, electronics, punk rock compositions and multimedia. Club DOM is a room of about a hundred square metres, which means the audience watches from a metre and a half away, and that is partly the point of the format.
