Septicflesh at the Ancient Theatre in Plovdiv on September 19 - the Greek Symphonic Death-Metal Band With Orchestra and Choir

Septikflesh vo Plovdiv na 19 septemvri

Septicflesh, the Greek symphonic death-metal band from Athens and one of the most recognisable names in the genre, come to the Ancient Theatre in Plovdiv on September 19, 2026. The concert is a special event with a symphony orchestra and choir - tailored specifically to the classical setting of the Ancient Theatre.

The band was formed in 1990 and became one of the key names of the Greek extreme metal scene. With 11 studio albums and an estimated 1 million records sold, they have cult status in the genre - especially after the albums Communion (2008) and The Great Mass (2011), which defined modern symphonic death-metal. Their style is recognisable for its large orchestral arrangements (frontman Spiros Antoniou is both songwriter and orchestrator), harsh death-metal vocals and themes drawn from ancient Greek mythology.

For the Plovdiv concert, the band will be backed by a full orchestra and choir - a continuation of a format they have developed since 2011. The Ancient Theatre of Philippopolis, with a capacity of 3,500 and authentic Roman aesthetics from the second century AD, is an ideal setting for a symphonic metal concert built on ancient mythology.

Tickets are available through eventim.bg at 90 leva. The concert starts at 20:00 on Saturday, September 19, 2026. For Macedonian fans of symphonic and extreme metal, this is one of the key dates in the neighbourhood.
