Sweden's The Crown are disbanding after 36 years and twelve albums, and their final tour ends with a concert in Gothenburg in December. Before that they pass through Skopje. The band headlines the second edition of Skopje Fury on September 19 in the MKC park, a festival that runs all day in the open air.
That is the fact that gives this date its weight. Balkan festivals rarely catch a band in the exact year it leaves the stage for good, and this is one of the names that defined Swedish death metal with a thrash edge going back to the nineties. Whoever misses it does not get a second chance.
Next to them on the poster stand the Greek band Yoth Iria, who recently signed to Metal Blade Records and are preparing a new album for this year. The programme is filled out by Game Over, the Dutch band Disavowed, plus Spoiled, Gargoyles and Trendkill. The organiser is Terrorvoid Promotions, and the edition is titled „Into the Terrorvoid”.
The festival takes place in the open-air part of MKC on the embankment, with the programme running from noon until late at night, with food and drink on site. The ticket costs 1,800 denars via tix.mk, which for seven bands in one day is a price you rarely see in the region.
