The accordion, that instrument which for Balkan music means an entire tradition, gets its big night in Belgrade. Aleksandar Sofronijević and Majstori za dušu perform on December 8 at the Blue Hall of Sava Centar - a concert in which old songs take on new shine in a lavish orchestral arrangement.
Sofronijević is one of the most respected accordionists in the region, but also a top-class arranger and producer. His name is tied to the show Majstori za dušu, of which he is the author himself - a series that drew a large audience on RTS because it reminded the public of a rich musical heritage and showed just how much those old songs still hold up.
What makes him special is his approach - with his excellent orchestra and the most popular performers from the region, he gives those good old songs new life, but also educates the audience about how they came to be and their path to listeners. The concert at Sava Centar carries the same name as the show and the album, which means an evening where tradition meets a top-tier performance.
The show starts at 8 p.m., and tickets are available through tickets.rs. For an evening in which the accordion and the orchestra revive songs that generations know by heart, Sofronijević is a safe bet.
