The voice that defined an entire era of symphonic metal is returning to a Balkan stage. Tarja Turunen (Tarja Turunen), Nightwish's former singer, comes to the Palace of Culture and Sport in Varna on 14 March 2027 with the Frisson Live tour - the first of her two Bulgarian dates that spring.

Tarja is no ordinary metal vocalist. Classically trained as a soprano, she fused operatic technique with heavy metal in a way that shaped the development of the whole genre. As the original voice of Nightwish, she was part of the Finnish metal breakthrough onto the world stage, and after parting ways with the band she built a successful solo career that confirmed her as a singular, constantly evolving artist.

The Frisson Live tour supports her new album Frisson Noir, described as the heaviest record of her career. That means the Varna concert will not just be a return to the old anthems, but the unveiling of a newer, harsher side of her music - an operatic voice over a heavier metal sound.

The show is set for 7 PM, and tickets start at around 58 leva and are sold through bilet.bg. For Balkan fans of symphonic and gothic metal, Tarja's arrival in two Bulgarian cities is the kind of event the genre waits years for. The Sofia concert follows a few days later, on 18 March.
