Tash Sultana, one of the most unusual names in contemporary music, lands in Sofia on August 11, 2026. The show goes down at Vidas Art Arena in Sofia's Borisova Garden as part of the European Return to the Roots tour.
Tash Sultana is an Australian multi-instrumentalist, producer and writer who broke through on YouTube in 2016 with a bedroom rendition of the song Jungle. That clip, now with more than 100 million views, turned Sultana into one of the most recognisable names on the internet music scene. On stage Sultana plays solo with more than 15 instruments - guitar, bass, drums, saxophone, flute, keyboards, synthesisers and voice - powered by a complex loop pedal rig that allows full orchestral songs to be built in real time.
With three studio albums - Flow State (2018), Terra Firma (2021) and Sugar (2024) - Sultana is the first Australian artist to top the ARIA chart without a major label behind them. The style is usually described as a mix of rock, psychedelic rock, R&B, reggae and blues - with a strong sense of melody. The concept of the Return to the Roots tour, as the name suggests, is a return to the basic, acoustic roots of the project after the more electronic-leaning recent albums.
Tickets are available via ticketstation.bg at 77 leva. The show starts in the evening on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. Vidas Art Arena sits at the velodrome in Sofia's Borisova Garden. For Macedonian fans of indie and alternative music this is the biggest chance to catch Sultana right now, especially given the artist has never played Skopje.
