Miloš Biković takes the Sava Centar stage on August 30, in Florian Zeller's play "The Lie", as part of the 33rd Belgrade Summer Festival. It starts at 20:00 in the Blue Hall, and tickets are around 1,030 denars.
"The Lie" was staged at the Belgrade Drama Theatre in 2023, directed by Nikola Ljuca. Alongside Biković, the cast features Tamara Krcunović, Miodrag Radonjić and Jelisaveta Orašanin. Four actors, two married couples, one dinner and a run of truths none of them wanted to hear.
Florian Zeller is a French playwright who won global recognition with "The Father", a text he later directed as a film starring Anthony Hopkins, winning an Oscar for adapted screenplay. His plays live off precise dialogue and off situations in which one small lie spreads until it swallows everything around it. "The Lie" is exactly that: a comedy that starts light and ends uncomfortable.
Biković is among the best-known Serbian actors on the regional and Russian scene, and the fact that he still performs in repertory theatre rather than only on film sets gives this staging additional weight. Theatre is where a mistake does not get fixed in the edit.
BELEF runs this year from June 20 to September 22 across several locations in Belgrade. Tickets for "The Lie" are at Ticket Vision outlets and through tickets.rs.
