The band is from San Marcos, Texas, and has been working since 2004. Their music is instrumental, the compositions long and atmospheric, with layers of guitar run through effects and dramatic shifts in volume, from a whisper to a wall of sound. It is the formula that defined an entire generation of post-rock groups, and they are among those who applied it most consistently.

The debut album Young Mountain came out in June 2006 through Magic Bullet, although it was originally self-recorded in 2005 as a demo meant to be sold after local gigs. Out of that demo came a career. Next came the self-titled release in January 2008, then Tunnel Blanket in 2011 with a heavier, metal-tinged sound, Another Language in 2014 which entered the Billboard Heatseekers chart at number seven, and New Others Part One, produced by John Congleton.

What makes them singular live is that there are no vocals, no lyrics and no gaps between songs for the audience to lean on. The whole evening works as a single movement, and volume is an instrument in its own right. For an open-air stage like Dorćol Plac, that is a risky format, and also the most impressive one.
