A legend of American garage rock is coming to Belgrade with the songs that defined an entire scene. Toody Cole and her band, together with Jenny Don't and the Spurs, take the stage on November 29 at Zappa Baza - a night dedicated to the legacy of the cult band Dead Moon.

Toody Cole is best known as the bassist, vocalist and co-founder of the Portland garage-rock band Dead Moon, alongside her husband Fred Cole. Dead Moon was active until 2006, after which the pair formed Pierced Arrows, which ran until 2015. After Fred's death in 2017, Toody carried on alone, and in 2023 she launched the project Toody Cole and her Band, in which she performs songs from all of her earlier lineups.

What makes this night special is the crew around her. Cole carries the Dead Moon songs with Kelly Halliburton on drums, her longtime comrade from Pierced Arrows, and Kristoffer March on guitar from Jenny Don't and the Spurs - the band that also plays that evening. Jenny Don't and the Spurs, formed in 2012, played their very first show as the opening act for the acoustic duo of Fred and Toody Cole, so the circle closes neatly.

The show at Zappa Baza starts at 8 p.m., and tickets are available through tickets.rs. For an audience that knows the roots of American garage rock, this is a rare chance to hear that legacy straight from the source.
