Victor Wooten, five-time Grammy winner and one of the most respected bassists of all time, comes with his family band the Wooten Brothers to Sofia on July 21, 2026. The concert will take place at JOY Station, as part of their world tour.
Wooten (born 1964 in Hampton, Virginia) made his name as a member of the bluegrass-jazz fusion band Bela Fleck and the Flecktones from 1988 - a band that won four Grammy awards and became one of the key names of instrumental fusion. Victor is recognised for the slap-bass and double-thumb technique that revolutionised the way bass guitar is played. In 2010 Bass Player magazine readers named him the greatest bassist of all time. With 12 solo albums, four instructional books and regular master classes, he is both educator and musician.
The Wooten Brothers is the family band - five brothers who have played together since childhood (Victor is the youngest). Joseph (keyboards), Roy (drums), Rudy (saxophone) and Regi (guitar) - all are professional musicians. The setlist is original funk-jazz fusion with long solo passages. JOY Station is a club with a capacity of around 1,500.
Tickets are available through eventim.bg at 70 leva. The concert starts at 19:30 on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. For Macedonian fans of instrumental fusion and jazz, this is one of the loveliest options in the neighbourhood this summer.
