Vlatko Stefanovski and Miroslav Tadić perform at the Culture Centre in Čakovec on December 11 at 8 p.m. The two guitarists will play as a duo, in the line-up with which they recorded two of the finest albums of Macedonian traditional music on guitar.

Stefanovski was born in Prilep on January 24, 1957, and is one of the most prominent Macedonian guitarists and composers. With the band Leb i Sol he left his mark on the Yugoslav rock scene, and his style blends rock, jazz and Macedonian traditional music. Tadić is an American-Serbian guitar master with whom Stefanovski has been building a collaboration for almost three decades.

Their partnership began in the late nineties with the album "Kruševo": Macedonian oro dances, melodies and songs played on two acoustic guitars, mostly in odd meters and archaic scales. In 2004 they recorded "Treta Majka" in Skopje, with Bulgarian kaval master Teodosii Spassov, using classical, flamenco, steel-string and baritone guitars. How often are Macedonian oro dances heard in a concert hall in Međimurje, played in a way that makes the audience fall silent and listen?

Tickets start at 41.50 euros (about 2,556 denars) including fees and are sold via eventim.hr. Čakovec is the main town of Međimurje, in northern Croatia.
