Vomitory, the Swedish death metal veterans, play Sofia on March 4, 2027 at the Mixtape 5 club. The organisers announce that more bands will be added to the evening, but the headline name is already known and is enough for the audience that follows the Swedish school of the genre.

The band was founded in 1989 by guitarist Urban Gustafsson and operated for twenty-four years before disbanding in 2013. Behind them were eight albums and hundreds of shows in thirty countries. They played their last concert on December 27, 2013 in Karlstad, Sweden, and that night guests from the Swedish scene performed, among them Johan Hegg and L.G. Petrov.

The return was gradual. In 2017 they gathered for a single show in honour of an old friend, and in 2018 the band was officially reformed. They marked their thirtieth anniversary in 2019 with new concerts, and in 2023 „All Heads Are Gonna Roll” came out, their first full album in twelve years. „In Death Throes” followed on Metal Blade Records, which means the band did not come back only for touring and the old repertoire.

The event starts at 6.30 pm. Tickets range from 48.90 to 68.45 leva through bilet.bg, which in denars is roughly 1,540 to 2,156. The date is far off, in March 2027, but for a band that vanished from the scene entirely in 2013, the announcement that they are coming to the region is news in itself.
