Željko Joksimović is returning to Banja Luka. On June 20, on the open-air stage of the Kastel fortress, the Serbian singer and composer plays one of the most beautiful settings in the region - a medieval fortress above the Vrbas river, starting at 8:30 p.m.
Joksimović isn't just a stage name; he's one of the most successful Balkan songwriters of his generation. He represented Serbia at Eurovision twice and holds the all-time record for appearances among Serbian acts - with one second place, two thirds, a sixth, and a thirteenth. The songs „Lane moje", „Lejla", and „Adio" delivered top placings not only for Serbia but for the other countries he wrote them for. He plays 14 instruments and speaks five languages, and his musical story began at age 12, when he won the „First Accordion of Europe" prize in Paris.
The Banja Luka concert is part of the summer program at the Kastel fortress, a place where a live performance carries a weight no indoor hall can offer. For audiences in Bosnia and Herzegovina and across the region, it means Joksimović on home ground, under open sky.
Tickets start at 1,250 dinars through tickets.rs, and the concert starts at 8:30 p.m. at the Kastel fortress in Banja Luka. The event takes place in Bosnia and Herzegovina, worth noting for readers weighing the trip.
