Looking for more events? The full calendar of concerts and events in Macedonia and the region is in one place.
On July 11, Aqua Park Probištip hosts one of the most popular folk voices in the region - Aco Pejović arrives with an open-air concert, on a summer stage by the pools. For audiences in eastern Macedonia, who usually travel to Skopje or across the border for names like this, the event is a rarity in their own backyard.
Aco Pejović, born in Prijepolje in 1972, is one of the biggest names on the Serbian pop-folk scene. He has been building his career since the 2000s, reaching his peak through a twenty-five-year collaboration with Grand Production. Songs like „Hotel tuge", „Sve ti dugujem", „Barabe" and „Ponoć" became evergreen hits that whole generations across the Balkans grew up with. His concerts regularly fill arenas and squares - in summer in Vrnjačka Banja he played to tens of thousands, and got a similar reception in Kragujevac.
The Probištip concert carries exactly that repertoire - a mix of the early ballads and the later folk marathon hits the audience sings by heart. The summer setting by the Aqua Park pools gives a different, more relaxed atmosphere than the arena concerts, closer to the audience.
Tickets in presale cost 1,000 dinars, after which the price rises to 1,200, at the door 1,300, while VIP seats are 1,500 dinars. They are sold through kupikarta.com and at the Aqua Park Probištip box office. The show starts at 9 p.m.
