Boris Novković marks forty years of his career with a big concert at the Marino Cvetković Sports Hall in Opatija on 7 November 2026, starting at 20:00. Tickets start at 31.50 euros via eventim.hr.

The Croatian singer-songwriter wrote songs that get sung in places where plenty of people could not name who wrote them. The set list for the night runs through "Kuda idu izgubljene djevojke", "Tamara", "Vukovi umiru sami", "Dok svira radio", "U dobru i zlu", "Sve gubi sjaj bez ljubavi" and "Mašta moja".

"Vukovi umiru sami" took Croatia to Eurovision in 2005 in Kyiv. Franjo Valentić composed it, Novković wrote the lyrics himself, and he performed with members of the Lado ensemble. He came fourth out of the semi-final and finished eleventh in the grand final with 115 points. What people remember most is the backing-vocal line - "Dunavom, Dunavom" - right before the key change.

Guests will join him on stage in Opatija. Forty years of a career usually means one of two formats: a programme that walks through what was, or a night that behaves as if none of it happened. With Novković the material settles that on its own - the songs from the eighties and nineties are still in active radio rotation, so the crowd showing up is not showing up for nostalgia. In February 2027 he takes the same anniversary concert to Ljubljana.
