CNN Travel has listed Macedonia among European destinations that deserve more tourist attention. "A dramatically mountainous destination just north of Greece" - that's how they describe us, and it's actually a compliment.

The American outlet notes that most European tourists focus on France, Spain, and Italy, yet the continent has 44 countries worth exploring. Macedonia offers "a similar experience, but without the hustle, long queues, and high prices." The sunny climate contributes to quality local produce - vegetables are "succulent and rich," while wines from domestic vineyards are "recognized for their intense flavor."

Lake Ohrid and the Church of Saint John Kaneo are singled out as among the region's most impressive symbols. But CNN goes further - mentioning the Old Skopje Bazaar, Matka Canyon, wine regions, Bigorski Monastery, and Mavrovo National Park. About Saint Naum, they note it has stood on the shore of Lake Ohrid since 905 AD.

It's nice when CNN writes about us. It would be even nicer if we invested in the infrastructure that makes that beauty accessible - instead of just waiting for foreign media to "discover" us.
